Client Brief – House Extension
To provide a light and airy extension which includes a modern kitchen, dining & sitting area that overlooks the rear patio & garden.
The depth of the extension was determined by the minimum internal dimensions, and to provide adequate space for a dining/sitting area within the extension; the design also included a redesigned kitchen layout within the existing kitchen area.
There was also consideration relating to the depth of the extension without encroaching too much into the garden and provide adequate access around to the rear elevation.
Two Velux roof lights are provided in the vaulted roof (one solar powered) to provide the maximum natural daylight to the new internal kitchen area.
Underfloor heating was installed in the floor construction to the extension to provide maximum flexibility for furniture layout and provide a uniform heat throughout.
The client was delighted when planning permission was granted for the project and with the quality of the finished extension, special thanks for the attention to detail of the builder.
